Reconstruction of an Ob-Ugric wedding ritual as a way of its integration into the modern life of Yugra: problem Statement

ABSTRACT
Introduction: the focus of this work is on ritual reconstruction as a basis for conducting a modern Ob-Ugric wedding, relying on the analysis of existing ethnographic information about the traditions of family formation historically developed among the Khanty and Mansi
peoples. The interest in this topic is driven not only by the author’s scientific interest in mytho-ritual traditions but also by the public demand existing in the sociocultural space of the region.
Objective: to identify the main directions of the semiotic reconstruction of an Ob-Ugric wedding as an integral phenomenon.
Research materials: published materials on rites of transition with descriptions of wedding ceremonies; folklore data; video materials on reconstruction of ethnic weddings.
Results and novelty of the research: the problem of scientific reconstruction of the wedding ritual of the Ob Ugric peoples has not been previously addressed. It includes a whole range of issues outlined by the author, aimed at creating a selection of key elements of traditional
wedding rituals that have not lost their significance; the selection of appropriate vocabulary and folklore material; the creation of wedding attributes and standard national clothing; attention to the traditions of honoring ancestral guardian spirits, and the national cuisine of the
indigenous peoples of Yugra.
