Abstract. The subjects of the analysis in the article are the parcellates – constructs extending a model of an attaching sentence. They are used for structural extension and ending of such sentences. The purpose of this work is learning of their emotive function on the material of the works of Mordovian writers. The realization of this purpose goal involves formulation and solution of the following tasks: 1) to describe parcellation as one of the types of conjunctive link; 2) to identify the scope of the implementation of parcellates; 3) to determine the semantic relations of parcellates with the main sentence; 4) to identify types of parcellates. The relevance of the study is determined by the fact that emotive function of parcellates never been the object of study not only in Mordovian, but generally in Finno-Ugric linguistics. This article is the first detailed analysis of such constructs and their emotive function. On the basis of the conducted research the author comes to the conclusion that parcellates, being products of the text, implement text potency, taking part in realization of such important categories as a continuum, prospection, retrospection and entirety. Because of their detachment from the original sentence – the previous component – they get more semantic meaning than the parts of one sentence. It allows giving more distinctive emotionality and dynamism to the narrative, it also allows expressing subtle semantic and expressive nuances and logically to emphasize appropriate in meaning facts, events.
