Abstract. The article is dedicated to research of semantic category of the causativity from the point of view of the study of semantic structure of a sentence and its main components – a predicate and actants united by common semantics of causality or causation on materials of the Erzya-Mordovian language. The subjects of the study are causative constructions of the Erzya language. The relevance and novelty of the research lies in the fact, that causative relations are not investigated enough on materials of the Erzya-Mordovian language, and these relations are studied on the level of semantics of deep cases or actants, and predicate. The tasks of the research are: to reveal the notion of causation in linguistics; to give morphological analysis of two main actants – the Causative and the Causator; to determine types of semantic structures, in which these deep cases are fixed; to study all indispensable elements of presented causative constructions; to reveal semantics of given actants and give characteristics to causative predicates on material of the Erzya language. We offer the classification of causative constructions, taking into account the semantics of causative verb, subject and object of causation, animateness and inanimateness of the members of causative situation. Morphological ways of marking of presented actants in given constructions are determined as well as distinctive features of the causative actants. As a result of the study it was exposed, that in the role of the Causator inanimate objects are used, in the role of the Causative both animate and inanimate objects are used.
Key words: causativity, causality, actant, causative predicate, the Erzya language.
