About the nomination of fur clothes and the processes connected with its production in the Khanty language (on material of Kazym dialect)

Abstract. Introduction: clothing is one of the most important components of national culture. Names of clothing as well as nominations of dwellings, tools and production skills, food and utensils characterize a broad sphere of material culture of the people. Formation of the principles of nomination, changing of ways of nomination of semantic constants in this is a kind of chronicle of historical development of the people. Objective: the article discusses the principles of systematization of words denoting fur clothing and the processes connected with its manufacture in the Kazym dialect of the Khanty language; sets motivational signs of nomination of items of clothing related to the peculiarities of life of the Khanty people, their practical experience of making clothes; describes the wide lexical-semantic group (including nominal and verbal words) representing the result of selection and taxonomy of words denoting different items of fur clothes and actions related to their manufacture. Research materials: all material selected from dictionaries was analyzed in the aspect of detection of differential semantic signs in accordance with taxonomy of the lexical units. Results and novelty: this work is a first attempt of the study of names of fur clothing and processes connected with its production in the Khanty language from the point of view of the principles of nomination of the considered vocabulary. Theoretical and practical significance of the work lies in the fact that the study and definition of the peculiarities of special vocabulary carries a specific contribution to the development of the vocabulary of Khanty linguistics. The classification of lexical units allows systematizing lexical system of the Khanty language on convincing grounds.
