ABSTRACT
Introduction: the article is devoted to the consideration of a handwritten dictionary containing a voluminous list of the Zyuzdin Permyak and Udmurt dialect vocabulary. The relevance of the research is due to the need to study the materials of written monuments, both handwritten and printed, whic are the most important source for the study of the history of any language.
Objective: to describe and analyze the Zyuzdin Permyak material contained in the manuscript “Materials for the comparative dictionary of the Zyuzdin Permyak, Glazovo Votyak and Besermyan dialects”.
Research materials: the manuscript “Materials for the comparative dictionary of the Zyuzdin Permyak, Glazovo Votyak and Besermyan dialects” stored in the State Archive of the Kirov Oblast.
Results and novelty of the research: for the first time the article describes and analyzes the Permyak material contained in the manuscript “Materials for the comparative dictionary of the Zyuzdin Permyak, Glazovo Votyak and Besermyan dialects”. Permyak vocabulary in the monument is represented by 1356 units, in 307 cases there are no correspondences in the Russian language. As a result of the analysis of the Zyuzdin material, some of its graphic and dialect features are revealed. Graphic features include the use of the letter ъ at the end of words; variability in the designation of sound ӧ; inconsistency in the transition of the softness of a consonant in combinations of consonants and before a vowel; designation of several consonants with one letter. Comparison of the manuscript material with modern data allowed us to conclude about the stability of the phonetic and morphological structure of the idiom, the loss of some original vocabulary and preservation of the tendency to borrow a large number of Russian words. The presented description contributes to the study of the history of the Komi-Permyak writing.
Key words: Komi-Permyak language, written documents, handwritten dictionary, Zyuzdin dialect
Acknowledgements: the publication was prepared within the framework of the planned research theme “The Permian languages in the linguistic and cultural space of the European North and the Pre-Urals” (№ 121042600252-7).
