Abstract: The article discusses the linguistic representation of one of the basic emotions – emotion of anger – in Mansi phraseological picture of the world (PPW). The author attempts to make a scheme for the development of this emotion. The purpose of the article is to describe the expression of the emotion of anger by the phraseological units (PU). The realization of this purpose involves the formulation and solution of the following tasks: to identify the PU of the Mansi language representing the emotion of anger; to systematize these PU in accordance with the development of the emotion; to consider the role of metaphor in the representation of anger. The relevance of the study determined that the linguistic representation of emotions hitherto had never been the subject of a special study in the phraseology of the Mansi language. The results of the study allowed to conclude that the Mansi language has a large number of the PU that represents the emotion of anger and are able to illustrate the dynamics of its development, beginning with its beginning and ending with the most extreme stages; associative images and emotive PU are mostly based on a metaphorical transfer of the meaning; phraseological vocabulary of the Mansi language represent both the internal emotional state and external expressions of the emotion of anger; a significant role in representing of the emotion of anger in PPW is given to the somatic PU, among which, in turn, were allocated the most productive somatic components sam ‘eye’ and sym ‘heart’.
