JOURNAL POLICY
The scientific periodic journal "Bulletin of Ugric Studies"(Vestnik Ugrovedenia=Bulletin of Ugric Studies) published since 2011. The founder is a Budgetary Institution of Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug – Yugra "Ob-Ugric Institute of Applied Researches and Development".
The main purpose of the edition is propagation of fundamental and applied achievements in the field of Humanities and Finno-Ugric studies in the Russian Federation and abroad.
Objectives:
- to form new views based on modern scientific approaches and different points of view;
- to publish, present and disseminate latest information and best practices of Russian and foreign authors;
- to provide opportunities for professional communication to a wide range of researchers and specialists in the fields of humanitarian knowledge;
- to introduce relevant scientific research and development for all interested readers;
- to establish and enhance scientific relations between Russian and foreign scientists and to encourage young researchers to become a part of the professional community.
The mission of the journal is to bring together research efforts and networking of scientists in the development of scientific thought on the actual problems of philological and historical sciences, as well as in the discussion and popularization of this field of knowledge, including through providing open access to published articles. The edition focuses primarily on the current regional problems which are considered in a wide range.
The independent Institute of internal reviewing of incoming materials operates in the journal since its inception. For this, in addition to members of the Editorial Board, the journal cooperates with well-known specialists in the field of humanitarian research.
The target audience of the journal is presented by prominent specialists in the field of Finno-Ugric studies and historical sciences which are known in Russia and abroad. The journal also provides the opportunity of publication for graduate students and young scientists. In all cases, articles are published based on the criteria and policy of the journal. The journal gives authors the opportunity to publish the results of their scientific research, and thereby contributes to the formation of scientific communities centered on research of specific themes.
The journal can publish materials of any author, regardless of place of residence, nationality and academic degree, presenting previously unpublished material and which is not intended for simultaneous publication in other editions. The acceptance of articles for publication in the journal is carried out in continuous mode.

Periodicity: quarterly
The journal publishes original, previously not published materials in Russian, Finno-Ugric and Samoyedic languages (with annotations in English) and English language. "Bulletin of Ugric Studies" pays great attention to the discussion of new scientific editions (monographs, academic publications), which is carried out in the format of reviews.
Open access policy
The basis of the policy of the journal "Bulletin of Ugric Studies" is the principle of openness of publication for authors and readers.
"Bulletin of Ugric Studies" is an open access journal which means that all content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author. This is in accordance with the BOAI definition of open access.

Right of authorship belongs to authors of articles. Budgetary Institution of Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug – Yugra "Ob-Ugric Institute of Applied Researches and Development" as founder and publisher has non-exclusive license for using of materials of journal "Bulletin of Ugric Studies". Full or partial republication of materials in educational or research purpose is permitted only with reference to publisher’s imprint of journal with obligatory indication of copyright holder and names of articles authors. It is essential to refer source with abidance by rules of referring at creating on the basis of published in the journal’s articles new, creatively independent materials, quotation and translation of fragments of articles.
Professional code
Chief Editor and editorial staff in preparation of articles conform following principles of professional activity:
– Respecting privacy rights of persons named in publications;
– Avoiding illegal and unethical ways of receiving of information;
– Informants’ confidentiality compliance in case they explicitly express will to stay anonymous
– Relying of social and cultural values of targeted audience;

Ethical aspects of the editorial policy
The editorial policy of the journal is based on the traditional ethical principles of the Russian scientific periodicals, supported the Code of ethics of scientific publications, formulated by the Committee on the Ethics of Scientific Publications (Moscow, Russia) and constructed taking into account the ethical work of editors and publishers, enshrined in Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors and the Code of Conduct for Journal Publishers, developed by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), as well as it is guided by the Declaration, developed by the Association of Science Editors and Publishers (ANRI).
Plagiarism checking
All incoming articles are tested for plagiarism through the system Antiplagiat . For the adoption the article must have at least 60% of text uniqueness.
At present the journal "Bulletin of Ugric Studies" is disseminated on the territory of the Russian Federation through the catalogue of Russian Post and by mailing of obligatory copies via the Russian Book Chamber (ITAR-TASS). It’s possible to get e-mail subscription via the journal editorial.
Publication of the articles is free.
