Abstract. The article is devoted to the question of traditional national rituals and their meanings and values in the contemporary psychotherapy. The author analyses the main rituals of the annual solar cycle - summer and winter solstices and vernal and autumnal equinoxes, the traditions, connected with them, their relation with human life and the possibility to use them in the modern practice of psychotherapy. Besides the author highlights some traditional rituals related to the age – «getting down from hem» and «putting on a horse», meanings and value of these traditions and ways of using them in psychotherapy.
