Attitudes towards objectified world of a person in the traditional culture of the Ob-Ugric and Samoyedic peoples

Abstract. The article discusses the relation to things in the context of the Khanty, Mansi and Nenets traditional culture. The sacral nature of the relationship between «man-thing» is disclosed. The author’s field material, analyzing etiquette rules concerning things as spiritualized likeness of their master is introduced into scientific use. Prohibitions characterized for the objectified world of the traditional culture are described. It is emphasizes the empowerment of things with semiotic status.
