ABSTRACT
Introduction: the modern linguistics puts forward the anthropocentric principle as a basic principle for the study of languages. This principle is an important component of the terminological system of linguistics. According to this principle the most complete and adequate research of language should be made in close connection with the cultural and spiritual human life, thinking and consciousness of people. Anthropocentrism in the work is used as the principle of the study «a human in a language», and more specifically – «a human in phraseology» in the Mansi and Russian languages.
Objective: to research the peculiarities of human representation in Mansi and Russian phraseology in the context of cognitive and culturological content of the national pictures of the world (on the example of phraseological units with the assessment of human intellectual qualities).
Research materials: phraseological units of the Northern dialect of the Mansi language and Russian phraseological units representing the intellectual qualities of a human in the opposition «smart – stupid».
Results and novelty of the research: the result of the research was the identification of national and cultural originality of the phraseological units of the Mansi and Russian languages, representing the intellectual qualities of a human in the opposition «smart – stupid», as well as universal and specific features of the phraseological units of comparable languages.
The scientific novelty of the research lies in the fact that the author makes an attempt of linguoculturological analysis of the phenomenon «a human» by means of phraseological representation in different languages – Mansi and Russian. Linguistic and cultural research of the intellectual qualities of Mansi people on a background of Russian language culture is innovative. The practical significance of the research is determined by the possibility of using its results in lexicographic practice in the preparation of the phraseological dictionary of the Mansi language, as well as comparative dictionaries of the anthropocentric phraseology.
Key words: anthropocentrism, anthropocentric paradigm, comparative phraseology, phraseology of the Mansi language, Mansi language, Mansi, intellect, intellectual qualities, the opposition «smart – stupid».
Acknowledgments: The author expresses gratitude to Dinislamova S. S., Ivanova V. S., Panchenko L. N., Dvinyaninova M. T., Kumaeva M. V. as well as an anonymous reviewer.
