Relations between the state and the indigenous people of the North at the beginning of the XXI century in Krasnoselkupsky District of Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug

АBSTRACT
Introduction: the research analyzes the relationship between the state and the indigenous people of the North in Krasnoselkupsky District of Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug during the first fifteen years of XX century.
Objective: to review the state policy towards the northern peoples of the Krasnoselkupsky District of YamaloNenets Autonomous Okrug in XXI century and to sum up its results. Research materials: the article is written on the field materials of the author.
Results and novelty of the research: following the Soviet state, the power of modern Russia recognized the need for powerful social assistance to people of the North, most of whose representatives were unable to adapt to their new economic realities either with their traditional methods of farming or by abandoning them. The modern state,
represented by the authorities of Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, financed the enterprises of the fuel and energy complex during the period under review, carried out a grandiose social project within the boundaries of the Okrug and specifically in Krasnoselkupsky District. Agricultural enterprises were established with traditional business activities with a strong material and technical base, a well-designed subsidy system and logistics, which provided jobs and earnings for many Selkup families. In addition to the creation of agricultural enterprises in Krasnoselkupsky District, a whole range of measures was implemented to help the indigenous people of the North, including direct cash assistance, medical assistance, housing, support for children’s education and traditional culture.
