The author being a representative of the indigenous community reveals the autochthonous interpretations of the Yamal aborigines
about these notions and relation to them.

well as field materials of the author.
Results and novelty of the research: the study analyzes the indicators of quality of life developed in the Department of North and Siberia of the N.N. Miklukho-Maklai Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology. They allowed us to determine the direct relationship between the anthropogenic impact of oil and gas companies on
the ecosystem of the Arctic region and changes in the cultural and economic type of the indigenous population of Yamal. The decrease in the area of reindeer pastures and their degradation force nomadic reindeer herders lead a sedentary life. It makes changes not only in the traditional way of life, but also in the way of thinking, value orientations of indigenous peoples of the North. In this situation, the Yamal Nenets hope that their own natural mobility and flexibility, as well as the competent policy of the authorities will help them to preserve reindeer husbandry as an ethno-forming industry in opposition to the industrialists of the fuel and energy complex. The novelty of the work is the primary attention to the analysis of own ideas of indigenous peoples of Yamal about quality of their lives.
