ABSTRACT
Introduction: the artistic interpretation of the dominant images of the world picture in modern Mordovian dramaturgy expands the ways of reflection of reality, methods of revealing characters and conflict. The relevance of the article lies in the fact that it comprehends the image of a house in the artistic structure of the dramatic works of Mordovian authors. The object of the study is the plays of the Mordovian playwright A. Pudin (1958), in which the image of a house is an important element of the scenic disclosure of the author’s concept of works.
Objective: to reveal the ideological and artistic significance and functions of the image of a house in the plays of A. Pudin.
Research materials: plays “People in the Empty House”, “Anahoretes, or a Corner for Orphans”, and “The Hearth” by A. Pudin.
Results and novelty of the research: the authors conclude that the image of a house is an important element of the artistic structure of A. Pudin’s plays. It helps to build a line of conflict, helps to determine the moral guidelines of the characters and identify the causes that destroy the usual way of their life. The playwright’s use of the image of a house with new artistic functions testifies to the author’s originality and aesthetic enrichment of the national literature. The scientific novelty of the article lies in the fact that for the first time it analyzes the image of a house in the drama of A. Pudin, reveals its artistic specificity, contributing to the disclosure of the conflict and characters in the plays.
