ABSTRACT
Introduction: the article is a part of a complex of studies of the genre specifics of Khanty literature. The work actualizes the genre features of elegy in the creative heritage of the Khanty poets.
Objective: to reveal the originality of the works of the elegiac genre in the works of two Khanty poets R. P. Rugin and M. I. Novjukhov.
Research materials: works of the elegiac genre from the books by R. P. Rugin “Selected Poems” and M. I. Novjukhov “With Hope for Happiness”.
Results and novelty of the research: the article analyzes for the first time the works of the elegiac genre in the works of two Khanty poets R. P. Rugin and M. I. Novjukhov. The analysis of literary texts has showed that poets work with the genre in different ways: R. P. Rugin follows the traditions of the elegiac genre, and M. I. Novjukhov departs from the traditions of the genre and goes into poems with elegiac motifs. Both poets turned to the image of a sail, using it to create an elegiac mood in artistic texts. R. P. Rugin enhances elegiac moods by motifs of memory or parting. M. I. Novjukhov resorts to motifs of
memory and loneliness. Poets focused on a single spatial scheme – “the past – the present”. It should be noted that the tragic events in the personal life of M. I. Novjukhov contributed to the emergence of a lyrical hero who perceives the world through the prism of disappointment, sadness, bitterness, injustice.
Key words: Khanty literature, genre, elegy, R. P. Rugin, M. I. Novjukhov
