ABSTRACT
Introduction: Associative Plural contrasted with Additive Plural denotes a group of objects including the name referent N and some other related objects. This phenomenon has been studied quite well in typology, as well as in Komi linguistics it was not the subject of independent research.
Objective: to identify the features of the expression of Associative Plural in the Komi language.
Research materials: Komi Language Corpus.
Results and novelty of the research: it is established that the Komi language refers to languages in which the value of Additive and Associative Plural is expressed by one indicator. A special indicator of Associative Plural is available only in some dialects. Associatives can be formed from kinship terms, proper names, less often from other animate nouns denoting people. Forms of Associative Plural can denote the groups of related, stable and actual totality. The scientific novelty of the work lies in the fact that for the first time the combinability of the multiplicity indicator in the meaning of Associative Plural was identified; semantic groups of associatives, the peculiarities of the choice of the dominant group were determined. The results obtained can be used in the typological study of associativity.
Key words: Permian languages, morphology, number category, Associative Plural, kinship terms, proper names
