Features of paradigmatics of personal pronouns in the Upper Cheptsa dialect of the Udmurt language

ABSTRACT
Introduction: the article is devoted to the description of the features of the functioning of personal pronouns in the Upper Cheptsa dialect of the Udmurt language. The importance of the problem is determined by the need to for a comprehensive study of the pronoun system in the territorial varieties of the Udmurt dialect language. The study pays special attention to distinctive features that are characteristic of the Upper Cheptsa dialect, on the one hand, and / or have a limited distribution in individual microsystems of the of studied dialect, on the other. Linguistic data are analyzed in the context of the Udmurt
language dialect landscape.
Objective: to identify and describe the features in the morphological structure of personal pronouns in the Upper Cheptsa subdialects of the Udmurt language.
Research materials: the author’s field materials collected during expeditions in the areas inhabited by the Upper Cheptsa Udmurts in the period from 2014 to 2023.
Results and novelty of the research: for the first time, the article analyzes in detail dialect specificity in education, paradigms of inflection and the use of personal pronouns in the Upper Cheptsa dialects of the Udmurt language. It is established that in the studied dialects, this category of pronouns exhibits features in the morphological structure of individual case forms and in the external design of case markers. It was revealed that the differences in the formation of case forms mostly relate to the use of various suffixes and suffix combinations. Some distinctive features in the system of personal
pronouns of the Upper Cheptsa subdialects are manifested at the level of phonetic design of case markers, as well as ways of their formation. The scientific novelty of the research lies in the introduction of new linguistic data into scientific circulation, which can become an additional source for a comprehensive study of pronominal words in the dialect system of the Udmurt language.
