ABSTRACT
Introduction: the article presents the results of a study of the consonantism system of the Nerdva dialect of the Komi-Permyak language: the articulatory characteristics and distribution of consonants, the most typical sound changes and processes for idioms are analyzed.
Objective: to identify and describe the features of the consonantism of the Upper-Kama dialect of the Komi-Permyak language.
Research materials: speech samples recorded from native speakers of the Nerdva dialect of the Komi-Permyak language in 2019 and 2022, as well as published texts representing the idiom.
Results and novelty of the research: the article for the first time considers the peculiarities of consonantism of one of the southern Komi-Permyak dialects. As a result of the study, it was revealed that the consonant system in the studied idiom is represented by 26 native and 5 borrowed phonemes; in articulation, the consonants do not differ from the corresponding phonemes of other Komi-Permyak dialects. Limited distribution is inherent in the sounds /б/, /в/, /д/, /т’/, /д’/, /з’/; phonemes /ф/, /х/, /ц/, /щ/, /р’/ function in Russian borrowings. Of the phonetic phenomena in the field of consonantism, the dialect is characterized by consonant loss and assimilation. The dialect material introduced into scientific circulation demonstrates the specifics of the dialect under study in the field of phonetics, complements the available information about the peculiarities of Komi-Permyak dialects and creates a basis for further generalizing study, description and classification of the general Komi dialect landscape.
