ABSTRACT
Introduction: migration of the Ob Ugrians in the territory of their residence, in particular, to the Lower Ob Region, is closely connected with women’s mythological images. Study of the way of migration of the most revered goddesses reflects the historical development of events in the territory. The subjects of the analysis are
folklore texts that confirm migration of the female deities. The theme of the article is relevant due to the lack of a special comprehensive research about the female deities of the peoples of the North in the scientific literature, and is also determined by the increased interest in the spiritual culture of the Ob Ugrians.
Objective: to identify and describe the «wandering» female deities on the basis of historical sources and analysis of folklore texts.
Research materials: folklore texts published in different collections, historical sources of famous Russian and foreign ethnographers, and field materials of the author.
Results and novelty of the research: the article analyzes historical sources and folklore texts about the movement of patron spirits, reflecting the process of development of new territories, which allowed to confirm the "nomadic character" of the female deities. The novelty of the article lies in the fact that using own field
materials the author introduces in scientific use something new related to the female deities of the Ob Ugrians in the concept «nomadic».
Key words: the Ob Ugrians, worldview, female deities, Kattashh-Imi, Kasum-Imi, Numi-Torum, Aj-Kattashh, Ar-Hoting-Imi.
