Abstract.The prob lem of studying shamanic and other magical-mystical practices is one of the most complexes in modern ethnography. For example of the study of ritual and the ritual culture of the Ob-Ugric people for a long time, you can see the fl aws in this area caused by certain world outlook researchers. At present these questions are studied by representatives of medical anthropology and are closely connected with her theory of anthropology of consciousness. The article introduces the main methodological provisions in studies of shamanic traditions, the prominent representative of this modern scientifi c direction Stanley Krippner.
