Abstract.Achaeological monuments of the Middle Ages the taiga zone of the North-Western Siberia studied unevenly. The least investigated areas in this regard can be attributed lower reaches of the Irtysh. In the field season of 2014 archaeological researches were conducted excavations in the medieval settlement Chebachya Pristan 2. The monument is located on the western shore of the lake “Domashnij Sor”, within the boundaries of the rural settlement Sogom (Khanty-Mansiysk district of KMAO-Ugra). During the work it was investigated portion of the defense system and the adjacent settlement area (40 sq. m); extensive data were obtained for the study and reconstruction of the material culture of the medieval population of the taiga.
The article presents the preliminary results of archaeological research and cultural and chronological attribution of the obtained materials. At this stage of the study the settlement Chebachya Pristan 2 dated X-XII centuries ad.
