ABSTRACT
Introduction: an unfailing interest of the writer in the problems of the formation of a woman’s personality, her attitudes, values, variability of presented female images in fiction lead to the need for constant monitoring
of literary approaches and means of depiction of a female character, which in turn actualizes new theoretical and methodological generalizations and conclusions. The relevance of the article is caused by the need for scientific understanding of the specifics of recreating the female image in the prose of the Mordovian writer V. Mishanina. The object of the research is the author’s strategy of its artistic modeling.
Objective: to analyze the forms and means of structuring of the female image in V. Mishanina’s prose.
Research materials: a number of stories (“Dymnoe utro” (“Smoky Morning”), “Koldunya” (“The Witch”), “Chelovek na doroge” (“Man On the Road”) and V. Mishanina’s novella (“Komok masla” (“Clot of Butter”).
Results and novelty of the research: the scientific novelty of the study is dictated by the lack of study of the interpretation of the female image in V. Mishanina’s prose, as well as the inclusion of her novella “Komok masla”
(“Clot of Butter”) in the analytical field of Mordovian and Finno-Ugric literary studies. In the course of analyzing of V. Mishanina’s stories and the novella, the author comes to the conclusion that the
novelist uses both a complex of traditional means of representing the character sphere, and the author’s methods of artistic modeling of the female image, due to the originality of the writer’s creative manner and her worldview. The model of a female image is a set of multiple personal and psychological, spiritual and moral characteristics and signs of the nature of the heroines, among which we can distinguish emotionality, moral consistency, intimacy, maximum openness. The writer also prefers situations in which female characters experience a sense of loneliness.
Keywords: V. Mishanina, prose, artistic model, female theme, female image, specificity, plot, conflict, author’sworldview, psychology of the image.
