ABSTRACT
Introduction: in the article, based on the analysis of the materials of the second revision of 1747 (revision tales) on the village of Binaratka (now Staraya Binaradka), as well as a number of other archival documents, the ethnic history of the Mordovian population of this village is restored. Special attention is paid to the little-studied issues of the formation of the Erzya-Mordovian component of the population of Staraya Binaradka, among which are the determination of the places of initial settlement of the Binaradian Erzya; the quantitative ratio of Mordovian immigrants from various villages; the determination of the dialect belonging of the Erzya settlers.
Objective: on the basis of archival sources and field research data, to identify the original settlement territories, the history and ethno-linguistic heritage of the Erzya component in the population of the village of Staraya Binaradka.
Research materials: materials of the second revision on the village of Staraya Binaradka in 1747; materials collected and processed by the author in this village during the 2019 field season; archival documents on the village of Novaya Binaradka, our field materials collected in the Moksha-Mordovian villages of Samara Luka were used for comparative analysis.
Results and novelty of the research: the conducted research allowed us to establish the initial settlement sites of the Erzya people who participated in the formation of the modern Mordovian population of Staraya Binaradka, a significant proportion of such places were accurately localized and compared with modern settlements, which opens up the possibility for further dialectological research. Among the modern population of Staraya Binaradka, there is a historical memory that the Erzya once lived here, in the local dialect, we have not found reliable Erzyanisms that could be associated with this population. These archival documents were analyzed for the first time in the context of the study of the history and origin of the Eryan component of the population of the village of Staraya Binaradka.
Key words: ethnic history, regional history, Mordva-Moksha, Mordva-Erzya, Samara Volga region, revision tales, Staraya Binaradka
Acknowledgments: the author expresses gratitude to his informants and reviewers, special thanks to the director of the village library of the village of Staraya Binaradka Dudinskaya Lyubov Ivanovna.
