ABSTRACT Introduction. One of the relevant problems of modern philological science is the study of ways of representation
of the image of people in artistic texts. There is a separate field of research – imagology, which aims to analyze images, including ethnic ones, in texts of various discourses. According to our observations, the same ethnic groups can be differently represented in the regional and national literature. Objective: to compare the images of the Ob-Ugric people in the regional fictions of Russian and national authors. Research materials: the fictions of the Khanty writer Yeremey Aipin, Russian writers Alexey Ivanov and Mikhail Stroganov, and the Mansi writer Panteleymon Cheymetov. Results and scientific novelty. The result of the research is comparison of the images of the Ob-Ugric ethnic groups in the regional fictions. Differences in ways of representation of the people’ images in the artistic picture of the world are revealed. It was concluded that the images of the Ob-Ugric ethnic groups in Russian and national literature consist of such components as the representation of appearance of representatives of the ethnic groups, their culture and traditions, peculiarities of religion. In the work of Russian writer Alexey Ivanov we see the opposition «us – them» and characteristic of a hero through the prism of «other» culture. Key words: Mansi, Khanty, literary texts, Yeremey Aipin, Alexey Ivanov, Mikhail Stroganov, Panteleymon Cheymetov. Acknowledgments: the research was carried out with the financial support of the Russian Foundation for Basic Research (Project No. 18-412-86002 «The North of Western Siberia: Images in Different Types of Discourse»). The author expresses the gratitude to the reviewers of the article for their time and recommendations. For citation: Sirotkina T. A., Ganushchak N. V.
