Ethnic perception of time in the traditional culture of Ob-Ugrian and Samoyed peoples

Abstract. Classical scientific paradigm treats time as one of the fundamental characteristics of the real world. The factors of experience and perception of time are related to the idea of its heterogeneity. The peculiarity of traditional culture is the simultaneous existence of time as a one-way forward motion (profane, everyday, lineal) and time as a sequence of similar events, life circles (sacral, mythical, cyclical time).
