The ethnonym “Voguls” in the historical prose of Alexey Ivanov

ABSTRACT
Introduction: one of the urgent problems of modern philological science is research of ways of representation of the image of people in artistic texts.
Objective: to consider the image of the «ethnic man» on the example of one of the Finno-Ugric ethnoses – the Mansi in the texts of the historical prose of the Ural writer Alexey Ivanov.
Research materials: the texts of the historical prose of the contemporary Permian writer Alexey Ivanov, in particular, his novels «Cherdyn – the Princess of Mountains», «Gold of the Rebellion», «Message: Chusovaya».
Results and novelty of the research: in the result of the research for the first time functioning of the ethnonym «Voguls» in texts of historical prose of A. Ivanov was described as well as the ways of representation of the image of the Voguls in the artistic texts of the writer are revealed.
