Family theme in the novel by G. K. Sazonov and A. M. Konkova “And the Stream of the Slow Moons...”

ABSTRACT
Introduction: the article is devoted to the study of the peculiarities of the artistic embodiment of the family theme in the novel by G. K. Sazonov and A. M. Konkova “And the Stream of the Slow Moons...” and fits into the complex of studies of Russian literary criticism concerning the problem of the artistic picture of the world.
Objective: to reveal the specifics of representation of the family theme in the novel by G. K. Sazonov and A. M. Konkova “And the Stream of the Slow Moons...”.
Research materials: the novel by G. K. Sazonov and A. M. Konkova “And the Stream of the Slow Moons...”.
Results and novelty of the research: for the first time the article presents a comprehensive analysis of representation of the family theme in the novel “And the Stream of the Slow Moons...” by G. K. Sazonov and A. M. Konkova. The artistic conception of the family realized in the work connects all parts of the thematic and motif complex (motifs of memory, motherhood, the theme of love). An important role in the family theme is given to women’s images. Narrating the four generations of the Kartin’s family, the writers combined with the fate of the heroes the life of the whole nation in its historical
existence defined by the chronological framework of the novel. They vividly and organically portrayed its national traditions, worldview, values. The family became the main guardian and reproducer of ethnic traditions, the marker of the stability of the people’s existence. It occupies the main place in the hierarchy of existence presented in the work.
