History of study the ethnography of the people of Western Siberia in the works of Alexander Mikhaylovich Reshetov (1932-2009)

Abstract. The subject of the article is the ethnography of the peoples of Western Siberia in the works of the travelers of the XVII-XVIII centuries, and researchers of the XIX-XX centuries in the biographies of scientists and scientific works of its authors which were the subject of the careful study of the outstanding Russian ethnographer Reshetov Alexander Mikhaylovich (1932-2009). The author gives the characteristic of A. M. Reshetov’s publications devoted to the life and work of those researchers who have made a great contribution to the study of traditional culture and language of the peoples of the North of Western Siberia. The article also deals with the work of the staff of Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography of Russian Academy of Sciences (Kunstkamera), where many ethnography researchers of peoples of Siberia worked and where their collections are stored.
