The article deals with the phraseological units (PU) of the Mansi and Russian languages as lexical means of description of the image of a beautiful woman in comparative terms; the reflection of folk ideas about the beauty of women is revealed; the universal and specific parameters of figurativeness of metaphorical expressions in description of the image of a beautiful woman are determined; the components of semantics and figurative internal forms that create the national and cultural specificity of the PU are described. Objective: to consider the language representation of the image of a beautiful woman in the Mansi and Russian phraseology in the context of the linguocultural content of national pictures of the world. Research materials: the materials of the research are the PU of the Mansi and Russian languages, serving as a means of representation of the image of a beautiful woman. Results and novelty of the research. The results of the research is the identification of national and cultural originality of the PU of the Mansi and Russian languages, representing the appearance of beautiful woman, as well as universal and specific features of the PU of the compared languages. Undoubtedly, the innovative is a linguistic and cultural study of the appearance of a Mansi woman on the background of Russian culture. The scientific novelty of the research lies in the fact that the work uses linguocultural analysis of the phenomenon of beauty in terms of phraseological representation in languages of different systems. The practical significance of the research is determined by the possibility of using its results in lexicographical practice in compiling the phraseological dictionary of the Mansi language, as well as dictionaries of anthropocentric phraseology of the comparative plan.
