Image of the city in the prose of E.D. Aipin (based on the story «Autumn in your town»)

Abstract:The problem of the metatexts is one of the most topical in contemporary literary criticism. Attempts to understand it on the example of Khanty literature were not undertaken by scientists. However, in analyzing of the works of Khanty writers and poets, it is clear that the image of the city, urban text deserve attention. It is even more interesting the existence of the urban text, forming of the urban code by the representatives of Northern ethnic group for which a topos is not a typical settlement, and as noted by V.Y. Prokofyev, a special «place of the unfolding of meanings». Most of artistic works with the metatext in the Khanty prose belongs to E.D. Aipin. Creating the urban text, the Khanty writer uses attribution of a topos, experiments with space, recreates the city through the personal feelings of the characters. He follows this way in the story «Autumn in your town», forming the image of a nameless city. Deliberate hiding of nominations of the urban landscape (streets, squares, cinemas) increases the desire to conceal a topos, which is related with deep personal feelings of the hero of the story. The image of the beloved in the work is also created through the attribution of the city. The space of the city narrowing and expanding to the cosmic scale of the Universe attracts attention.
