Abstract. This article is devoted to the problems of connection between the French literature of XIX-XX centuries and the Image. In the integrative investigation the author for the fi rst time described the Character in the sphere of the Image creation. The Image and society, Image and spiritual inner world, Image and human tragedy – are the issues discussed in this article.
