ABSTRACT
Introduction: the article is a linguistic and historical study of the phenomenon of a newspaper creolized text of the 1930s. The motifs of the the «national» and the «international» in the Soviet press of the pre-war decade were chosen because they were important components of the Soviet national discourse. The choice of newspaper creolized texts is due not only to their quality as a historical source. The scientific significance of the study is given by the general turn of linguistic science towards the comprehensive study of language in all its diversity of connections, including with other (non-verbal) semiotic systems.
Objective: characterization of creolized texts containing images of the «national» and the «international» and a description of their interaction as constructs of the Soviet northern discourse.
Research materials: publications of the newspaper of the Ostyako-Vogulsk / Khanty-Mansiysk National Okrug in 1931–1941.
Results and novelty of the research: in the course of the work, 30 creolized texts in the Khanty language were identified and analyzed. The semantic nature of the verbal and non-verbal components was determined; the grouping of creolized texts was given; the degree of their creolization and pragmatic potential were shown. New in scientific terms is the analysis of newspaper creolized texts in the Khanty language, its historical and cultural interpretation in the context of the history of the Soviet era. Some provisions and conclusions of the work may be in demand in studies of the development of the communication potential of the Khanty language, the history of ethnic journalism, Soviet national policy in the North.
Key words: national policy, images of the «national» and the «international», creolized text, verbal and non-verbal components
