ABSTRACT
Introduction: in modern linguistics, the direction of emotiology has been formed, studying the ways of expression of emotions at all language levels. This direction was formed in a number of countries in the 80s of the XX century as the response to the former desire to see only rational in languages by researchers.
Objective: to present the theoretical argumentation of emotiology as the independent linguistic discipline for the prospective study of the material of the Finno-Ugric and Komi languages and to present brief overview of two subgroups of lexical units.
Research materials: lexemes and lexical phrases collected by the author from various sources into the single registry, which are the words-pejoratives of the Komi language.
Results and novelty of the research: the article presents the basic theoretical foundations of emotiology as the independent linguistic discipline in modern world linguistic science. The article justifies the need to study the material of the Komi language in these aspects of analysis. It briefly reviewed the words- pejoratives of secondary nomination, the meanings of which are motivated. In the Komi language we clearly can distinguish the following groups of words on the basis of which the pejorative motivated meanings were formed:
1) parts of the human body, body secretions,
2) items of traditional economy and household,
3) zoomorphisms, words – the names of animals, birds, insects, reptiles, fish,
4) phytonyms (names of plants and their parts),
5) proper names (ethnonyms, personal names),
6) mythological vocabulary (names of spirits, various negative creatures, etc.).
Two groups of lexical units with motivated meanings are briefly characterized in the article for the first time: the words denoting items of traditional household of the Komi-Zyryan people and the zoomorphisms (names of animals, birds, insects, amphibians).
Key words: Komi language, lexicology, emotive vocabulary, pejorative words, secondary metaphorical
nomination.
