ABSTRACT
Introduction: within the general historical and historical-pedagogical context, the article examines the optics of inspection checks, their assessments of the characteristic problems of the Khanty-Mansiysk National Pedagogical School from 1946 to 1952, and the perception of the inspection results by teachers and the administration of the educational institution.
Objective: to identify the role of inspection checks in the life of the Khanty-Mansiysk Pedagogical College.
Research materials: literature on school inspection and documents of inspections of the Khanty-Mansiysk Pedagogical School in the post-war years, as well as the P. K. Zhivotnikov’s diary as the inspector of the Tyumen Regional Education Department.
Results and novelty of the research: the article shows the connection between the organization and documentation of inspections of the Khanty-Mansiysk Pedagogical College in 1946–1952 and the theory and practice of inspection in the post-war years. Historical sources testify to the complexity of the problems facing the school, conditioned by both historical, cultural and private factors and circumstances; different approaches to their understanding and solution are presented. For the first time in the literature, changes in the life of the school associated with the results of inspections are studied, including changes in the perception of the status of the school as a national one. The reaction to the inspections on the part of teachers and the school administration is analyzed, and the importance of the professional experience of the members of the inspection commissions who inspected the school is assessed.
