ABSTRACT
Introduction: from the semantic and cognitive point of view the article describes and analyzes the conceptual space Ларьяк ‘Laryak’ created in the poetic creative work of Vladimir Mazin, a native of Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug. It is shown that in the works of Vladimir Mazin there is an indication of a geographical place (the village of Laryak), and a wider geographical and conceptual space. Particular attention is paid to the linguistic means by which a similar effect is achieved: the selection of epithets, personification, and symbolization. There are also lines in which the poet points to a direct connection between the events of his life and this geographical object.
Objective: to describe and reveal the semantic, cognitive and linguoculturological features of the oikonym Laryak and its defining form Laryaksky in the work of the Yugra poet Vladimir Mazin.
Research materials: the empirical basis of the study are the poetic texts of Vladimir Mazin in the collections of poems: «The Pier of Joys and Sorrows» (1997), «The Tambourine and The Violin» (2001), «The Everlasting Light of The Chuval» (2005).
Results and novelty of the research: the article gives a linguoculturological analysis of the use of the oikonym Laryak and the adjectonym Laryaksky in the poetic creative work of Vladimir Mazin. It is revealed that the first toponymic lexeme is a designator of the conceptual space, and the second is the expression of content and boundaries of this space. The symbolic potential of toponymic vocabulary is revealed by the representation of vivid images of a small homeland, fellow countrymen, emotions and the formation of a personality. The relevance of the theme is determined by the insufficient study of the semantic, cognitive and linguoculturological features of the Yugra poetic discourse, which translates the poet’s reverent attitude to his small homeland. The novelty lies in the application of the principles and methods of cognitive science and linguoculturology to the figurative and symbolic content of V. Mazin’s poetic texts. For the first time, as a result of the cognitive and contextual analysis and search for hidden meanings of reference words, their role in the creation of the conceptual space of the Yugra poet and in the transmission of an individual attitude to a small homeland, is shown.
Key words: poetic text, Laryak, concept, semantics, word functions, hidden meaning.
