ABSTRACT
Introduction: the preservation and development of folklore traditions which brightly reflect the originality of traditional culture in the context of its modernization becomes especially popular and promising. The revival of interest to traditional phenomena promotes actualization and popularization of traditional folklore in modern
socio-cultural situation. But at the same time, it is important to take into account the main urgent problems of traditional folklore from the point of view of its practical implementation as well as in the process of theoretical comprehension. The modern approach to the study of folklore is distinguished by the fact that the traditionalism of folk art is not conservatism, which connects it with the past, but, first of all, its dialectical nature, which provides a connection with the past, the present and the future. This article is devoted to the analysis of studies of recent decades in the field of problems of preservation and development of music and song folklore of indigenous peoples of the Arctic, which ensures the preservation of the authenticity of folk traditions, as well as the development of new folklore works.
Objective: to study the modern problems of preservation and development of music and song folklore of minority Arctic ethnic groups of Russia based on the analysis of actual research on the theory and practice of the phenomena of spiritual culture.
Research materials: scientific monographs, thesis researches, articles of domestic and foreign authors devoted to the researched theme. Experience of practical work as artists-soloists performed in the ensemble «The Northern Light» of the Institute of the Peoples of the North of the Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia in different years, and participating in it as teachers-tutors performing production and rehearsal work.
Results and novelty of the research: the article gives the scientific analysis of the works of domestic and foreign researchers devoted to the study of the modern existence of musical and song folklore of indigenous Arctic groups as well as the achievements of the organizers and leaders of national creative teams performing
their concert and creative activities in the Arctic regions of the Russian Federation.
