Precedent phytonymic names: from dialect words to symbols of Udmurtia

ABSTRACT
Introduction: the article considers three phytonyms – ashalchi, zangari, italmas, which have become the precedent names of national culture of the Udmurts. Precedent names represent words-texts that are significant for a particular person in cognitive and emotional relations. As a rule, they are well known to almost any representative of the linguistic and cultural community, including predecessors and contemporaries.
Objective: to reveal and describe the precedent for Udmurt linguoculture phytonymic names.
Research materials: the pseudonym and creative work of Ashalchi Oka, the poem by M. Petrov “Italmas”, the names of various objects associated with the studied floronyms, etc.
Results and novelty of the research: for the first time in Udmurt linguistics, the separate names of phytonyms are considered as precedent phenomena. The concept of precedent names is introduced into scientific circulation. They point to certain fragments of knowledge stored by the people as a cultural value. This will give impulse to further study of this problem in Udmurt linguoculture and ethnolinguistics.
