Abstract. The article substantiates the actuality of further studying of the peculiarities of alcoholism among Khanty ethnos. It shows the high prevalence of this disease among the indigenous population in comparison with non-indigenous population and especially among Khanty women. The author gives reasons for the necessity of creation the «ethno-specifi c» medical and rehabilitation programs and measures for saving the traditional way of life among Khanty population.
