Representations of the Thunder and the storm in the culture of the Kazym Khanty

Abstract.The authors of the article give the representations about the Thunder-storm and the Thunder as thunder-storm personifi cation in religious outlook and beliefs of Khanty people. The basic sources of a new material are new materials on Khanty folklore, the oral stories written down by one of authors of article. The paper also represents some components of ethnographic supervisions, connected with representations about a thunder-storm, household displays and installations on behaviour of the person during a thunder-storm. The article opens new prospects on continuation of researches of representations of Khanty and other obsko-ugrian people about the Thunder-storm and the Thunder.
