ABSTRACT
Introduction: the subject of analysis in the article is a pronoun as one of the most common parts of speech. The frequent use of pronouns can be explained by the fact, that they play the role of the means of communication between independent clauses.
Objective: to consider the role of pronouns as a means of text link.
Research materials: the prose works of the national writer of Mordovia K. G. Abramov. The basic method of the research is descriptive one. It is used for analysis of the semantics of pronouns, their functioning in the certain contexts.
Results and novelty of the research: the relevance of the research is determined by the fact that the role of pronouns as a means of link of independent sentences in the text had never been the object of study not only in Mordovian, but generally in Finno-Ugric linguistics. It was revealed that the pronouns of different categories are used: personal, demonstrative, possessive, definitive, and, in rare cases, indefinite ones. In K. G. Abramov’s prose chain (serial) links with the words of this part of speech, due to their stylistic neutrality, parsimony of means of expression, are very widespread. However, analysis of texts convinces us that sentences with pronouns outside the context are synsemantic, and we are talking about a semantic incompleteness. The scientific novelty of the research lies in the fact that for the first time it presents a detailed analysis of role of pronouns asa means of text link on the works of a particular author.
Key words: text, pronoun, link mean, chain (serial) link, synsemantia.
Acknowledgments: the author expresses gratitude to the anonymous reviewer for useful recommendations and valuable advice in the preparation of the article. For citation: Vodyasova L. P.
