ABSTRACT
Introduction: the article considers one of the semantic-syntactic components of a sentence – an address that organizes human speech activity. The relevance of the theme is determined by the fact that this component has not yet been sufficiently studied in Finno-Ugric linguistics.
Objective: description of the semantic-syntactic status of an address, analysis of its emotional and evaluative potential.
Research materials: syntactic units of the Erzya-Mordovian language containing addresses in their composition.
Results and novelty of the research: as a result of the study, it was revealed that the main signs of an address are addressing the addressee of speech and vocativeness. The scientific novelty of the work lies in the fact that for the first time it presents a detailed analysis of the semantic-syntactic characteristics of an address in one of the Mordovian languages – the Erzya. It describes its role in creation of the emotionality of speech. It has been determined that, structurally, this component of a sentence can be single or extended (a noun in the form of a nominative of singular or plural acts as a single address or a prop word); semantically, there is a variety of addresses, while the choice of lexical means of their forming depends on the characteristics of the communicative situation. It is indicated that the purpose of an address can be not only to attract the attention of the interlocutor, but also to express the attitude of the speaker towards him. In this case, the vocative function is drowned out and evaluativeness comes first. With the help of an address, the emotional expressiveness of speech is enhanced, it is given expressiveness.
Key words: address, vocativeness, semantic-syntactic status, emotional and evaluative potential.
