Thematic and motif complex of P. E. Saltykov’s poetry collections “Samem Arijl” and “Murkhi Sun”

ABSTRACT
Introduction: the article is the first experience of understanding the work of P. E. Saltykov, one of the brightest representatives of Khanty literature. In the study, attention is focused on understanding the originality of the poetry collections “Samem Arijl” and “Murkhi Sun”.
Objective: to analyze the thematic and motif structure of the Khanty poet’s creativity.
Research materials: the works of P. E. Saltykov from the collections “Samem Arijl” (“The Heart Sings”) and “Murkhi Sun” (“The Basket with Cloudberry”).
Results and novelty of the research: the study analyzes for the first time the poetic heritage of Prokopiy Ermolaevich Saltykov. The published texts of the artist of the word are presented in the Khanty language. The article uses subscript translations of the poet, stored in the State Archive of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. Most of P. E. Saltykov’s poetic texts in the Russian language have not yet been published. As a result of the conducted research, we come to the conclusion that the main thematic complex of P. E. Saltykov’s poetic heritage is formed by the themes of the Motherland and nature. The patriotic constant is strengthened by the love for the Khanty language, the people. Natural images are present in literally every poetic text of the author and perform various functions: they act as a source of inspiration, a guardian of peace of mind, they give birth to memories and evoke associations. Significant attention in the poet’s work is occupied by the theme of love. The images of the beloved are indicated in the poetry of P. E. Saltykov sketchily.
