The theme of a poet and poetry in the lyrics of M. I. Novyukhov

ABSTRACT Introduction. The article is devoted to the insufficiently studied theme of a poet and poetry in the modern Finno-Ugric literature. The subject of the analysis is peculiarities of comprehension the theme in the creative work of the Khanty poet M. I. Novyukhov (1928–1992). Objective: to reveal the originality of the theme of a poet and poetry in the lyrics of M. I. Novyukhov. Research materials: the works of M. I. Novyukhov included in the book «With the hope of happiness» (2012). Results and novelty of the research. The article deals with the specifics of the implementation of the theme of a poet and poetry in the lyrics of M. I. Novyukhov. Poetic reflections of M. I. Novyukhov about the place of a poet in society, about the essence of poetry, about the nature of creativity, about the qualities of a poet, and about the sources of creativity are reflected in the pages of his works. Author’s thoughts and moods are manifested in the opposition «poet-poet», «poet-society», and «poet-reader». The development of this theme in the creativity of the Khanty poet can be associated with a good poetic school (although the author himself denied its existence, but a range of his literary preferences indicates the opposite), with the difficult relationship of the author with publishers. The theme of a poet and poetry, as well as the image of a poet, was realized in Khanty literature in the works of this author.
