Abstract. The article analyses theoretical and applied researches of meaning and characteristics of socio-psychological personality’s adaptation. The criteria for successful implementation of the adaptation, phases, types, levels and display of adaptation are considered as the main parameters that determine the features of this process. The author comes to conclusion that adaptation is a fundamental concept, reflecting the relations of the individual with his environment, which is expressed in human adaptation to the changing environmental conditions.
