Abstract. The article highlights several types of the portrait image in the Russian children’s literature in 50-80 years of the XX century. Looking at the portrait from the point of view of its relationship with the portrait as a work of art, the author identifi es such his types, as a self-portrait, a double portrait and a portrait-the mask. As for the functional specifi city of the portrait, there are revived portrait, cinematographic portrait, portrait-intertext, analytical and psychoanalytical portraits.
