Unknown writer N. P. Lebedev and his creative work: to the problem of the uncounted in the history of Komi literature

ABSTRACT
Introduction: the article is devoted to Nikolay Pavlovich Lebedev, one of the forgotten writers of the Komi of the early XX century. It is the first literary study of his creative work. Particular attention is paid to the participation of N. Lebedev in the domestic literary press, in the journal for the lower military ranks “Leisure and Affair”. Most of the writings published by the writer on the pages of the “soldier’s” jornal are close to the kind of creativity that was widely spread among the Komi-Zyryan intelligentsia of the XIX century – essay folk studying prose, which performed superliterary tasks in studying and describing various provinces of the Komi Krai. At the same time, the folk discourse in N. Lebedev’s texts has its own peculiarities related to the journal’s focus on the interests and opportunities of a reader. The author’s estimation of a plot, the deliberate exotisation of the depicted, the combination of familiar plots of Russian folklore with the Komi-Zyryan folkpoetic tradition are revealed.
Objective: to reveal the features of N. P. Lebedev’s ethnological prose in the aspect of the formation of the Komi literary tradition at the turn of the XIX – XX centuries.
Research materials: correspondence of the journal “Leisure and Affair”, essays and stories by N. P. Lebedev.
Results and novelty of the research: in the course of the study, a search and collection of speeches by the Komi writer N. P. Lebedev in the Russian press of the 1900s is carried out. For the first time, an analysis of his works is carried out, the circumstances and features of his creativity are revealed. The research suggests that the nature of N. Lebedev’s work is largely determined by his participation in the literary periodicals of that time, addressed to the lower reading public. The writer consciously aligns his work with the reader’s requests and resorts to a number of artistic constructions that support
the interest of the audience to reading. Scientific novelty is ensured by the inclusion of previously unknown, but relevant material in terms of studying the history of Komi literature in the research field.
