ABSTRACT
Introduction: the article is devoted to the creative work of the famous scholar of Finno-Ugric studies – Doctor of Philological Sciences Ye. I. Rombandeeva, whose scientific biography is considered in the general context of the development of Russian philology. A detailed description of her monographic works in the field of linguistics is given, much attention is paid to the description of works in which a comprehensive study of phonetic, morphological, lexical and syntactic phenomena, characteristic of the Mansi language, has been carried out.
Objective: to identify scientific and applied significance of the creative heritage of the famous Mansi philologist Ye. I. Rombandeeva.
Research materials: bibliography and works of Ye. I. Rombandeeva (selected publications, field diaries), as well as scientific literature on the research theme.
Results and novelty of the research: the analysis of Rombandeeva’s scientific biography in line with the concept of a “great man” made it possible to identify certain stages of her way to science (the beginning of scientific and methodological activity (1940s – 1960s), formation as the linguist, author of textbooks (1960s – 1990s), the scientist as the organizer of science (1990s), scholar of philology (1990s –2017). Within the framework of the anthropological approach, a generalizing portrait of Rombandeeva is presented as the scholar and researcher, translator, text editor, compiler of folklore collections,
author of scientific articles, dictionaries, textbooks and teaching aids. The final section is devoted to the recognition of the merits of the Mansi scholar of philology, the patriot of her native language. The novelty of the work lies in the approach to the study of intellectual heritage as a valuable source, which makes it possible to identify the role of an individual in formation and development of Ob-Ugric linguistics through the prism of the exposition of the stage-by-stage approach to her creative way.
