Intercategorial relations in the system of verbal word formation in the Khanty language (on the material of the Kazym dialect)

Abstract:The subjects of analysis in this article are the types of verbs’ meanings formed from the basics of the various parts of speech with derivational suffixes. The aim of this work is to consider these types and reveal intercategorial relations in the system of verbal word formation. On the material of the Kazym dialect of the Khanty language intercategorial relations of verbal word formation have not been researched earlier. The study revealed that the system of verbal word formation in the intercategorial relations contains noun, adjective, adverb, particles and onomatopoeic words as well as borrowing; productive and non-productive suffixes involved in the intercategorial ford formation were considered. Analysis data show the largest percentage of participation of nouns in the intercategorial relations, at least 50 per cent is participation of adverbs and adjectives. In the Kazym dialect the most productive suffix is =t=/=әt=/=tә=, it forms fifty-seven units, formed from nouns, adjectives, adverbs, borrowings and onomatopoeic words. Non-productive suffixes =am=, =am=, =әs=, =ańś= form only by two verbs.
