ABSTRACT
Introduction: the article considers the opposition «Me – Other» on the materials of Ob-Ugric folklore and ethnographic data. Such types of opposition as mythological (origin of a man, emergence of sexual dimorphism as the formation of the binary opposition feminine / masculine), religious (totemic beliefs, profane / sacral),
. family and social (rite of avoidance) and philosophical (awareness of «Me» different from the «Other» in the mode of time). The idea of the article is to reveal the essence of the oppositions of worldview positions and the possibilities of their convergence (connection, interpenetration).
Objective: to reveal the peculiarity of the manifestation of the «Me – Other» opposition in the traditional culture of the Khanty and Mansi as «feminine / masculine» from the standpoint of philosophical anthropology and phenomenology.
Research materials: published folklore texts, data of linguistics and ethnography of the Ob Ugrians, as well as field materials of the author.
Results and novelty of the research: the article analyzes the types of «Me – Other» opposition. The scientific novelty of the research lies in the fact that the types of the opposition «us – them» (mythological, religious, philosophical) identified by V. G. Felde are extrapolated by us to the opposition «Me –Other» in the traditional culture of the Ob Ugrians. This made it possible to add this list with a family and social type of opposition, to give them characteristics and models for removal of contradictions in accordance with the traditional worldview. It is proved that the opposition «Me – Other» is largely determined by the cultural and historical reality. The main theses of the article contribute to the organization of a dialogue of specialists in the field of philological, historical, philosophical and other sciences on issues of changing of the opposition «Me – Other» in culture. The work contains materials and conclusions that can be implemented in the teaching of anthropology, cultural studies, philosophy, as well as they can be used as the basis for a the specialized course devoted to the problem of the development of the opposition «Me – Other».
Key words: Ob Ugrians, Khanty, Mansi, folklore, «Me – Other», types of opposition, traditional culture, traditional worldview.
Acknowledgments: the author expresses his deep gratitude to V. I. Spodina, all informants, and anonymous reviewers of the work.
