ABSTRACT
Introduction: the scientific significance of the theme is given by an anthropological turn and interest to the actor of historical process. It is important to see the emerging in the mid-1950s a sociocultural turning point in the historical fate of a Northern school and positions of local leaders of education as actors of educational and national policy in this regard.
Objective: characteristics of the perception of the problems of secondary pedagogical and general education national schools by local leaders of northern education, their professional and civic position.
Research materials: the stenogram of the meeting in the Ministry of Education of the RSFSR on April 27–29, 1955 and some other documents of the Ministry, as well reports and protocols of party meetings of the Khanty-Mansiysk Pedagogical School.
Results and novelty of the research: the study of structure of the meeting participants’ speeches, the ratio of the ethical, logical and emotional, pretentious beginnings and vocabulary shows that the best directors of pedagogical schools in the North were the most consistent defenders of a national school. The complexity of the implementation of a national school’s project narrowed the limits of directors’ positions, which were held almost exclusively on logical grounds. And this made them very vulnerable at the first changes in the course of the Ministry of Education. Scientific novelty is determined by an interdisciplinary approach, a combination of linguistic methods and historical interpretation of the results of work with the source text and consists in characterizing ideas and approaches to the problems of a national, including the secondary pedagogical, school of the peoples of the North. Separate provisions and conclusions of the article can be used in the preparation of the academic history of Yugra, special courses on the history of education and culture of the northern regions of the RSFSR.
Key words: national school of the North, national pedagogical college, native language of students, vocabulary and structure of speech, thematic groups, analysis of a text.
