ABSTRACT
Introduction: the study of the value aspect of proverbs of both super-ethnos groups and indigenous small-numbered peoples, including living in Russia, is conducted. The comparative analysis carried out on the material of unrelated languages, makes it possible to identify the universal and specific features, which contributes to the achievement of mutual understanding between different peoples.
Objective: to identify the representation of the value components in the Karelian proverbial fund and to summarize the obtained data of comparison with the data of paremiographic sources of unrelated languages in axiological perspective in terms of defining common and specific features.
Research materials: paremias combined into 13 sections of the dictionary of Karelian proverbs and sayings, studied in a comparative aspect with the data obtained by the author earlier, based on the analysis of names and composition of 21 sections of the French, 24 sections of the Russian and 15 sections of the Tuvan dictionary of proverbs and sayings.
Results and novelty of the research: for the first time the article presents the results of an axiological analysis of the Karelian paremiological fund, carried out on the basis of a study of the hierarchy of the quantitative composition of the proverbs and sayings dictionary sections, as well as the semantics of proverbs in comparison with the material of the French, Russian and Tuvan languages. Despite the differences in the historical development and formation of the studied ethnic groups and their languages, the study revealed a significant degree of similarity in the representation of predominantly universal values, which, however, may differ in place and role in the system of value coordinates.
Key words: value, anti-value, paremiology, paremiography, Karelian proverbs, French proverbs, Tuvan proverbs
Acknowledgments: the publication was prepared within the framework of the project D.2-F/S2022 of the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia Grant Support System for scientific projects and reflects the initial provisions of the report read at the conference “Vectors of Development of Russian Studies and Linguodidactics in the Context of Modern Philological Education”. The author expresses gratitude to Doctor of Philological Sciences O. V. Lomakina and Doctor of Philological Sciences E. E. Ivanov for their help in discussing the concept of the research.
